October 1, 2021 - Applications for the 2022-2023 are open on this website. Applications are NOT first come-first served.
January 1, 2022 - Deadline for application to the 2022-2023 school year.
January 15, 2022: Deadline for teachers to submit their recommendations. Recommendations are done online through the application portal. We do NOT accept any snail mailed or emailed recommendations.
Friday, March 4, 2022 AFTER 7PM - Applicants are emailed their status. If you did not receive an email, please check your SPAM folder or log into your application account. Please do NOT call the main office, email email@example.com with questions.
April 1, 2022: If accepted, deadline to sign the intent form to register at GALA for the 2022-2023 school year. If you do not sign the intent form by this date, your spot will be forfeited.
April 23, 2022 - If accepted, first day to register at Registration Day for accepted students.
April 25-29, 2022 - If accepted, Registration drop off in the office for anyone not attending the April 23rd Registration Day. Hours 8am-11am.
April 29, 2021 - Deadline for accepted students to enroll. Any accepted student who has not registered by this date will automatically forfeit their spot at GALA.
May 1, 2021-September 1, 2021 - Any open spots opened to the waiting list.
2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR: We are not accepting applications to this school year.
2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR: Applications are now closed. The deadline was January 1. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for questions.
LATE APPLICATIONS: If you started an application before January 1st but you do not complete the application by the deadlines, including a teacher recommendation, your application will be withdrawn.
SIBLING APPLICATIONS: All siblings of current students must apply during the regular applications period from October 1-January 1. Siblings of current students are not automatically enrolled.
PREVIOUS APPLICATIONS: If you were waitlisted in a previous year, applications are not rolled over from year to year. A new application needs to be filled out.
I ALREADY SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION, FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR BUT MY STUDENT WAS WAIT LISTED. DO I HAVE TO APPLY AGAIN?
Yes, a new application is needed for each year applying with the new grade level your student will be entering for next year.
I ALREADY APPLIED, HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS?
You can always go back and log into your application account to check the status of your application and your checklist items. Acceptance and Wait List emails will be sent the first Friday of March after 6pm. Your status will also appear on your application account page after this date. The link to log back into your application can be found in your confirmation email. Search "GALA" in your inbox.
WHAT IF I NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE TO MY APPLICATION?
Once you click submit on the main application, you will not be able to make changes. You can log in anytime to change the email address on your application account - click "Account". If your mailing address changes, email email@example.com.
IF ACCEPTED, HOW DO I CLAIM MY SPOT?:
On your acceptance email, you will find a link to an intent form to accept your spot and a link to a Registration paperwork page to download necessary forms for Registration Day.
WHAT IF WE MAKE OTHER SCHOOL PLANS AND WANT TO WITHDRAW OUR ACCEPTANCE OR WAIT LIST STATUS FROM GALA?:
We know finding the right school for your daughter can be a lengthy process. If you submit an application to GALA and then make other school plans, move, etc., please let us know ASAP so that we may remove your application. Likewise, if you are accepted or wait listed... and you have committed to a different school, please let us know ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can open your spot to another family.
IF ADMITTED, WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?
If you are admitted and you decide to enroll, the following documents will need to be submitted: LAUSD Registration Forms including the media waiver form and the Device/Chromebook form, GALA policy forms, a copy of your driver's license or state ID, utility bill (not telephone), immunization records (Tdap required for 7th grade and above), report card, transcript (high school), student birth certificate, and, if applicable, your IEP plan, 504 plan, inter-district permit (if coming from outside of LAUSD), and any court custody agreements. IF ADMITTED, DO YOU HAVE A REGISTRATION DAY OR ORIENTATION DAY TO SEE THE CAMPUS?
If the pandemic allows, we do have a Registration Day in April and a student orientation in August.
WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER IS ON THE WAITING LIST?
We typically fill from the waiting list from May through August as spots become available. We do not "number" the waiting list.

All data collected is for internal GALA use only for the application process. The admissions committee consists of all LAUSD employees, including administrators and teachers.
