engineering
According to the Congressional Joint Economic Committee, only 14 percent of all professionals working in engineering are women. GALA is on a mission to change that!
engineering
Students learn how to think and design like an engineer with hands on projects in rocketry and civil engineering. Learn about the different kinds of engineers and the career pathways. One project including designing their own amusement park ride. In past years, they have also competed and won in the MATE Underwater Roving Vehicle competition.
rocketry
Students learn about all forms of rocketry. Students have built and set off their own rockets in the Mohave Desert and smaller versions on our own GALA field.
architectural engineering
Students are introduced to standard engineering and design practices for both residential and commercial projects. They complete structured projects including elements of design, planning, documentation, communication and other skills needed for the field.
aerospace engineering
Aerospace is a Middle School elective where students learn about designing for the aerospace industry, including designing their own aircrafts. The class includes utilizing our flight simulators to learn the mechanics of airline pilots.
maker space
GALA received a grant to create a Maker Space complete with 3-D printers, tech tools, green screen room, and flight simulators.
robotics
GALA has Middle and High School robotics teams that compete across the city.

GALA has a designated robotics field classroom and our program is sponsored by LADWP! Learn more about our Robotics HERE.
