GALA is hosting a Freshman Summer Bridge program for ALL rising 9th graders (Class of 2029) registered GALA students. We will be helping ease our students into high school with tools, support, and goals to help with the transition. Each will meet from 8am to 1pm.

Please don’t think of this as “summer school.” There will be no assessments, tests, or essays to write here! We will focus on “soft skill” building. What are soft skills? They are the interpersonal, behavioral, and social skills that make up the type of student, friend, and future employee you are and will be.

We will be talking about and examining skills such as conflict resolution, resilience, empathy, communication, professionalism, organization, time management, and collaboration. How do these skills (and others) present themselves in English class, Science class, at lunchtime, in Advisory, and even at home? We have sessions to talk about it and put together a plan and goal for your personal growth and success!

And at the same time, you can spend some time with old friends while also meeting new ones! This program will provide breakfast and lunch each day. You do not have to attend all four dates to participate.

ORIENTATION
Orientation at GALA is one of the most exciting days of the year! It’s designed to give new students a warm and fun introduction to campus life. Students receive their class schedules, meet their new friends and advisory teacher, and get a full tour of the campus so they feel confident on day one. The day is packed with team-building games, ice breakers, and activities that help students feel part of the GALA sisterhood right away. It’s the perfect mix of fun and information—setting the stage for an incredible year ahead!

Orientation is a few days before the school year begins each year.
