GALA GODDESSES CIF HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

CALIFORNIA INTERSCHOLASTIC FEDERATION (CIF): GALA is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), the governing body for sports within California. CIF principals include “Pursuing Victory with Honor” acknowledging that athletic competition is an integral part of the high school experience but promoting the concepts of character, sportsmenship, honesty, equity, and academic excellence.

REQUIREMENTS: Girls in grades 9-12 are invited to try out and participate. The GALA Athletics Department promotes teamwork, a growth mind set, leadership skills and pursuing victory with Honor.  GALA’s Honor code is strictly followed both in the classrooms and on our athletic teams. Students may earn athletic letters throughout their four years in high school which will be issued in their senior year. To participate, students must have...

• A minimum of a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) to be eligible

• Maintained a 2.5 GPA to participate

• Met the athletic requirements through the try-out process

• Maintained good citizenship at the school.

ATHLETIC PACKETS: Athletic packets have deadlines prior to the start of each season. A completed doctor's physical and emergency card must be submitted prior to try-outs. It is highly recommended that you complete your physical PRIOR to the start of the school year.
