Summer Program for MS students:

 

  • The Northrop Grumman Summer Engineering Camp (application due 5/1)

A two-week camp in which students explore aerospace, electrical, civil and mechanical engineering with hands-on activities such as rockets, circuits, bridges, and robots.  Students also explore computer science by learning to create video games and write apps. Northrop Grumman Summer Engineering Camp (previously Viterbi Summer Engineering camp and the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp) serves 32 students each year and has been a part of USC Viterbi for over 10 years.

  • EXPLORE (application due 4/16)

Externships Providing Leadership Opportunities in Research and Education (EXPLORE) Program matches gifted and advanced high school students with distinguished mentors, hands-on research opportunities, and professional experience in their field of interest. With the support and guidance of volunteer mentors and IEA staff, students learn about working in a variety of professional settings and advance their skills through the pursuit of knowledge and exposure to optimally challenging learning experiences. Students not only experience growth intellectually and personally, but are able to make pertinent and lasting connections with their mentors and like-minded peers.

  • The Annenberg Youth Academy (application due 3/16)

The Annenberg Youth Academy for Media and Civic Engagement is a four-week summer intensive academy for 26 talented high school students from the communities surrounding the USC University Park and Health Science Campuses. Students are exposed to the equivalent of first-year college level courses and develop a rich conceptual understanding and practice of the necessary role that media communications and journalism play in fashioning civic-minded thought leaders and innovators.

  • Mission Engineering at USC (application due May 1)

Spend two weeks this July exploring various disciplines offered in engineering, including aerospace, biomedical, civil, computer science, and mechanical engineering. Gain engineering skills by designing, building, and testing team-oriented, hands-on projects. Mission Engineering has been a part of USC Viterbi for 11 years.

  • Girls Who Code (application due Feb 16)

The Summer Immersion Program is a FREE 7-week summer program for 10th–11th grade girls (rising juniors and seniors) to learn computer science, gain exposure to tech jobs, and join a supportive sisterhood of thousands of girls across the US! The Summer Immersion Program is an introductory Computer Science course, and no previous experience is required. We welcome all eligible applicants who have an interest in technology and a willingness to learn!
